Alan R Parker was born in Covington, Kentucky, and at the age of four, moved with his family to Loveland, Ohio, a small town on the outskirts of Cincinnati. His father built a motel on a US Highway and Alan became fascinated with the different license plates and was stirred into wondering what these places must look like. It was while living in Ohio, dreaming of travel, he was given his first guitar and his songwriting began.
The first trip into the vastness of Utah was the first of many. Alan, so awed at the red rock of the southern and eastern parts of Utah, was inspired to write a song about its beauty. Of the many songs he is written, “Utah”, remains one of his favorites.
Today, Alan and his wife of many years make West in Colorado their home. Twenty-nine miles from the Utah border, one of their favorite things to do is to load up the old Jeep and go camping back to Utah. There, they sit by the campfire, watch the shooting stars, and listen to coyotes in the not-too-distant Hills.
This site is designed to facilitate conversation concerning the production and distribution of Utah. Whether you are a musician, media artist, or recipient of the final work, many thanks for you contribution in the creation and distribution of “Utah”.
